Andrew
the Apostle
Did you experience church yesterday as a place full of
beautiful people, sharing good news? If not, think about why not, and whether
what you said to people would count as good news. Did we listen as well
as speak and sing? Good news is spoken and heard in communication.
We know that our God reigns, yet we need to hear it proclaimed. We
become beautiful not when we work at ourselves but when we share good news with
others. Isaiah tells us the watchmen see God’s salvation together. The
ruins of Jerusalem burst into song together.
What about today and life away from church? Good gifts
come from God. But we have the ministry of working with Him to spread the
news of good things. This mission is not limited to church, nor does Isaiah
limit the kind of good news; rather he describes it in various ways. What
mountains will you walk on today? What good news will you share with
people? Sometimes life is bleak, you may need to devote time, energy and prayer
to uncovering the good; don’t then keep it to yourself. As you go on your
way, be encouraged that God sees you as beautiful!
