Eclipses, rainbows and bees

4th Sunday of Lent 3rd April
Isaiah 43.1-7
     Psalm 19
Ephesians 2.8-14
John 9.1-41

Psalm 19

Today would have been my father’s 101st birthday. It is a special day for me.

The beauty of God’s creation never ceases to amaze me. I have seen eclipses, each a special memory. I have seen rainbows. delicate bridges built by God out of raindrops and light. They speak to me of the beauty and splendour of the world which God created and in which we live. Creation is a witness to God’s glory. This is the big picture for which we need a telescope. Yet there is also the wonder of life viewed under a microscope. Buzzing bees flitting from decorous flower to the next suckling pollen, fertilizing the dancing beauties of field forest and garden lit by radiant sunshine then returning to their hive- a microcosm of life.

“The heavens are telling the glory of God”

If you can, listen to Haydn’s “Creation”
