11th Day of Lent +++ God is not fooled

“Isn’t it Infuriating!”     “People do such Stupid things !”     “They really ought to know better  !”     “It makes my blood Boil  !”    “How could they . . .  !”  And then, when it all goes  ‘pear-shaped’,  “Well, it serves them right . . . !”   Righteous indignation,   or self-righteous anger,  with  a torrent of little phrases that come screaming out from somewhere buried deeply in our subconscious. . .  Instinct reacts to some unexpected situation like an erupting volcano . . .

Maybe some quiet reflection on the advice of Galatians Chapter 6 will help.  It is certain that not everyone knows about “keeping the law of Christ”.  Those maddening souls who are making us so angry have their own loads to carry – If we too are not to be “put to the test” like them, maybe we could do something like ‘carrying their burdens’ ?  Or at least, if it is a question of Serious Wrongdoing, take Paul’s suggestion on board, and try to “set them right” in a spirit of gentleness . . . God is not to be fooled, and each one has their own load to carry . . .
