Daily
prayer
Reading
this psalm, it struck me that it is the perfect daily prayer, which could be
said when we might struggle to find words. Starting with reaching out (hear me,
Lord, for I am poor and needy), then asking for mercy. After that, some
adoration (I will praise You God with all of my heart…) and asking for
protection (Arrogant foes are attacking me (…), and trust in God (but you,
Lord, are a compassionate God…). It is fascinating that words written such a
long time ago have resonance today. I will read this psalm again and again and
be grateful for the Word of God through David, which is there for us all when
we can’t find our own words.
