Day 37 of Lent +++ God’s love

God’s love
In all we do, we are protected because of the love God has for us. So many times, we suffer from the insecurity of feeling that God is not with us when fighting certain battles. Even in v. 11, we see David asking God not to withhold His compassion from him for His constant love and truth will always guard him. He too knew that God’s love and truth will protect him from his insecurities which are the biggest drivers of sin, as we try to solve our problems from our own understanding and not that of God. Instead of leaning on our own understanding to resolve our insecurities, trusting in God’s love and compassion will go a long way. When we are troubled, we need to look to someone we can trust, and we know that God is the most trusted handler of all our troubles.
Introspection
Why is it that when we have failed to something, the first thing we do is to ask someone to help? We forget that the people we lean on for help, even when they have the expertise, are also only human and they make mistakes hence cannot be fully trusted like we can fully trust and rely upon God. God has fully proven Himself through His works in our lives and we are further reminded in vs. 4-5, that happiness comes to those who trust in the Lord rather than listen to the proud and liars. Going through difficult situations like in my case a stroke, can leave us needy and vulnerable to people. Rather, we should take it as a time to fully embrace the Lord and rely on him for both emotional and physical strength while trusting that His way is the best way.
Redemption
The more we go through life and its difficulties, the more we understand how much we need in God in every aspect of our lives for we flourish because of His love. For what we have experienced and are yet to experience, He is our guide. In vs. 1-5 we see that in as much as David prays and waits patiently in the Lord to answer his prayers, he acknowledges that those who trust in the plans of the Lord are blessed. The Lord goes before us and delivers His plans which are the wonders we enjoy in our lives when we trust His way.
Gratitude and Faith
God’s love and favour is a constant testimony in our lives. It is our duty as obedient Christians to share our testimonies of His goodness because it does not only strengthen other people around us but is also part of the process of trusting God. In vs. 9-10  it says, ‘I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.’ We should speak in confidence of what the Lord has done of us and in my case,  I have suffered a stroke twice in my life but because of His love, I was healed. I delight in sharing my testimony because I know this is a way of proclaiming my faith.
Devotion (faith)
I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.
