Day 16 of Lent +++ Rescue in time of trouble

Rescue in time of trouble

It has been a difficult few months – We have dealt with death: my stepdad, Morgan’s snake “BD”, and our beloved pug Minimus. We have dealt with financial hardship: Tom out of work, our son lost his job, I moved back to Florida to help care for the baby. We live with uncertainty: Will Tom find a job in Europe? Will we need to move back to the States? Will Morgan and Devin find new jobs?  Through it all we have prayed for grace, patience, opportunities, a clue to our future?  We know that God has a plan for us. He has always blessed us in unusual ways, but we only know that in hindsight.  We are in a period of waiting for that plan to unfold.  Enter a reading for today – Psalm 34

In this period of waiting, both professionally and spiritually, we need to turn to the Lord in praise and prayer. He hears our cries and we know he cares about us. He will save us from all our troubles, IF we have faith and trust His guidance, His energy, His judgment.
Isn’t that what the Lord wants from us all? To trust Him, to live righteously, to be grateful when we see His plan unfold for us, finally. May this Lenten period be a time of faith for us all.

“The righteous person faces many troubles,  but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.”
