27th Day of Lent +++ Because we are purified +++ Car nous sommes purifiés

An earthly sanctuary, consecrated bread, a golden altar, incense and a lamp stand. All these things in the first five verses of Hebrews 9 are just some of the details listed to describe the old order of things. They amount to “only a matter of food and drink,” v. 10, but isn’t it easy to get wrapped up in the preparations we make before we feel ready to come before God and be vulnerable? I am struck in the midst of a busy week, while trying to find time to write a meditation for lent, by all the things we will put before us and God. I’ll light a candle first and put on some calming music and then I’ll be ready to meet with God. I’ll think about it in the morning rather than at night because then I’ll be ready to meet with God. I’ll find a new pen, because this one doesn’t write well and then I’ll be ready to meet with God.

Except God is here. Jesus is here — in this moment, with you.

“He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.” v.12

The new order means that it is done. The preparation is done. What is required of us now is to enter into relationship with Christ, because it is that relationship with Jesus that will cleanse us and prepare us for God’s kingdom.

Nous devons maintenant nous engager dans une relation personnelle avec le Christ car nous sommes purifiés par cette relation avec Jésus qui nous préparera pour le royaume de Dieu.
