24th Day of Lent +++ Sufferings for Salvation +++ Souffrances pour le Salut

They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it! – Psalm22.31

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? This might be a common question for all of us during our down times. Suffering takes many forms. It can describe physical, emotional and social pain. Much of the pain that we experience in life is unavoidable: pain is an inherent part of the world we live in, both for good and for ill. Some pain is indeed avoidable but difficult to escape for a variety of reasons. Some pain is self-inflicted. But is it only for you?
Jesus has suffered for the sake of you. Do you remember the agony of Jesus on the cross?
Jesus was crowned with thorns which caused severe bleeding. His hands and feet were pierced by nails which were driven between the bones. When He dropped down with the full weight of His body on the nails that were driven through His wrists, it sent horrific, excruciating pain up His arms to register in His brain. The upper body was cramped, he was unable to breathe. Due to extreme loss of blood and hyperventilation, Jesus experienced severe dehydration. After several hours of this torment, his heart stopped, his lungs collapsed, and he was dead. But this is not the end of the story, his sufferings took victory over death, his sufferings washed sins of the world, his sufferings took away the curse of life. Jesus’ SUFFERINGS turned to SALVATION.
Salvation is the greatest gift from Our Lord to us through His Son Jesus Christ. Sin is forgiven and God restores back what sin has destroyed in your life. Salvation gives us the eternal peace and joy which the world cannot give us. We can overcome the sufferings of this world with the strength of Holy Spirit and bring Glory to God as Jesus did on the cross. God will turn our sufferings to great Joy.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer*
